Richter has launched Richter Guardian, a managed personal cybersecurity offering aimed at senior executives, affluent individuals, and their families. The new service expands the firm’s advisory portfolio beyond traditional financial guidance.
The launch also coincides with a milestone year for the Montreal-based firm, which is marking its 100th anniversary, showing a century of evolution alongside the clients it serves.
Personal protection meets advisory expertise
The package blends ongoing surveillance of users’ digital footprints with a dedicated Cyber Defence Desk staffed by security specialists. The team validates threats, explains incidents, and can intervene directly when a breach is confirmed.
Richter says it has a 700-person multidisciplinary team working across Canada and the US.
Clients receive monitoring of both the dark and deep web, safeguards for smartphones, laptops and tablets, vulnerability scans, ransomware defenses, and incident-response support. Additional layers address impersonation and phishing attacks that could damage a family’s online reputation.
Why executives need a separate solution
Richter identifies a gap between corporate cyber defenses and consumer-grade tools. Executives, retirees and relatives of business owners often lack the protective infrastructure available inside large companies, leaving personal devices exposed.
Recent data show that 81% of reported AI-fraud cases in 2025 involved deep-fake technology, showing the rise of socially engineered attacks that target individuals before they reach corporate networks.
While many providers rely heavily on automated tools, Richter Guardian emphasizes human expertise. Clients communicate with specialists through encrypted channels rather than interacting with AI chatbots, ensuring subtle judgment in high-stakes situations.
“Today’s digital threats extend well beyond the workplace,” said Raymond Vankrimpen, Partner and cybersecurity expert at Richter. “Executives and high-net-worth families need protection that reflects how they actually live.”
Richter targets not only active leaders but also former executives and retired founders who no longer benefit from corporate security teams. This places the offering between mass-market consumer software and the in-house defenses reserved for large enterprises.
“The launch of Richter Guardian reflects that same commitment,” said Tasso Lagios, Managing Partner. “As digital threats continue to evolve, protecting our clients means looking beyond traditional financial and business advice to safeguard the people, families, and reputations behind every success story.”
“For 100 years, Richter has evolved alongside our clients, anticipating their changing needs and helping them adapt to increasingly complex challenges,” said Tasso Lagios, Managing Partner of Richter.
