Samsung Canada has launched an initiative called Ask Us Anything, focused on foldable smartphones, to address questions from Canadian consumers about using these devices in daily life. The programme centres on practical questions about durability, everyday productivity, and the experience of switching smartphone ecosystems.
The initiative brings together voices from various fields, including technology, photography, gaming, travel, productivity, and lifestyle content. Participants include Matt Moniz, Andres Vidoza, and Liv Biermann, alongside a wider group of creators and Team Galaxy members.
Foldable Smartphone Category
Samsung is presenting the foldable category in a new way, shifting from focusing on specifications to using creators and community members to answer practical questions in real-time across social and online platforms. This approach puts peer experience ahead of traditional product marketing.
Tarik Akad, Samsung Canada’s Vice President of Mobile Experience, highlighted the company’s eight-year journey in developing foldable technology. Akad noted the growing interest in foldables and the evolving nature of discussions around them.
Ask Us Anything reflects Samsung’s belief that the experience gained over nearly a decade of foldable innovation should be more accessible to people considering the category.
Addressing Consumer Concerns
As foldable devices move beyond early adopters, Samsung tackles challenges like reliability concerns, daily convenience, and the perceived cost of switching from established systems. These factors can still hinder consumer adoption.
Experienced foldable users will answer questions from social media, online communities, and creator channels. Topics will cover multitasking, entertainment, creativity, and daily use, aiming to ease the transition from other mobile platforms.
Samsung has updated its Smart Switch and Quick Share tools to simplify device migration. Smart Switch now allows wireless transfers via QR code on compatible devices, even without the app installed on iOS.
Making the Switch
The transfer process can move contacts, photos, messages, apps, and settings. Samsung also said Enhanced Quick Share supports direct sharing with AirDrop on supported devices. It also pointed to RCS messaging on compatible devices as a way to maintain richer cross-platform conversations, including higher-quality media sharing.
By presenting migration tools alongside lifestyle-focused testimonials, Samsung is trying to make the decision to switch feel less like a technical leap and more like a manageable change in routine. Foldable smartphones have been on the market for several years, but the category still accounts for a smaller share of the broader handset market than conventional slab-style phones.
